As part of our ongoing efforts to strengthen our safeguards for advanced AI capabilities in biology, we’re evolving our Bio Bug Bounty into an ongoing private program, known as the OpenAI Bio Bug Bounty program and doubling rewards to $50K. We’re inviting researchers with experience in AI red teaming, security, or biosecurity to try to find a universal jailbreak that can defeat our predefined biosafety challenge against OpenAI’s frontier models. https://lnkd.in/eb8_Y_NB

GPT‑5.6 is now the preferred model in Microsoft 365 Copilot—in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Chat and Cowork. In addition to serving the models natively, Microsoft will also access OpenAI models directly through the API to bring GPT‑5.6 to Microsoft 365 customers. In Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Cowork, GPT-5.6 can help users create higher-quality work with less effort, from drafting and refining documents to moving from data to insights, shaping presentations, and coordinating complex cross-functional work. https://lnkd.in/g4cCriKQ

Introducing ChatGPT Work, a new agent in ChatGPT that can take action across your apps and workflows to turn a goal into finished work. Powered by Codex and GPT-5.6, ChatGPT Work is a whole new way to use ChatGPT, moving beyond just answering questions to getting real work done across web, mobile, and desktop. You can ask ChatGPT Work to take on entire workflows with a single request. It will understand your goals, use context from selected apps and files, create polished documents, decks, analyses, sites, and reports, and keep work moving while you stay in control. GPT-5.6 makes ChatGPT state of the art at reasoning through complex tasks and creating materials that match your templates, reference files, and preferred style. ChatGPT Work starts rolling out today on web and mobile, beginning with Pro, Enterprise, and Edu users and expanding to Plus and Business over the next few days. Chat, Work, and Codex are available to all desktop users, including Free, starting today in the updated ChatGPT desktop app for Mac and Windows. Codex app users can update their app as usual—it will become the new ChatGPT desktop app. https://lnkd.in/ehpEC3V8

Introducing GPT-Live, a new generation of voice models for natural human-AI interaction. Rolling out in ChatGPT starting today. GPT-Live makes talking with AI feel like having a real conversation. It’s also our smartest voice model yet. It’s built on a full-duplex architecture, meaning it can listen and speak at the same time. This allows the model to engage in more natural back-and-forth, maintain a better sense of time, and even perform live translation. A good voice model should be enjoyable to talk to, and GPT-Live is a great conversationalist with a more natural and defined personality than previous voice models. For questions that require web search, deeper reasoning, or more complex work, GPT-Live can delegate to our latest frontier model behind the scenes, and brings the result back into the conversation when it's ready. These new models are rolling out now to everyone in ChatGPT across iOS, Android, and web. Coming soon to the API. Just tap the Voice button to talk with ChatGPT, and you’ll get the new experience powered by GPT-Live. Learn more about GPT-Live and ChatGPT Voice: https://lnkd.in/g8_uW3Kj

We’re introducing GeneBench-Pro, a research-level benchmark for a harder kind of AI progress: how well agents can navigate messy biological data, choose the right analysis path, and make judgment calls that real computational research depends on. GeneBench-Pro represents an initial effort to evaluate the more abstract skills involved in good scientific judgment possessed by experienced. We anticipate that as model capabilities advance, benchmarks that probe model abilities at these higher levels of abstraction will become increasingly useful, beyond those that simply test book knowledge or the ability to execute routine analyses. https://lnkd.in/eeZaipbH

Introducing a limited preview of GPT-5.6 Sol, our next generation frontier model, as well as GPT-5.6 Terra, a balanced model for efficient, everyday work, and GPT-5.6 Luna, a fast and affordable model for high-volume work. We believe in broad access and plan to make GPT-5.6 Sol, Terra, and Luna generally available in the coming weeks. For now, at the request of the U.S. government, we’re starting with a limited preview among a small group of trusted partners in Codex and the API. We’re excited to continue learning from this preview period, and to bring GPT‑5.6 Sol, Terra and Luna to more people soon. https://lnkd.in/eYiKri9U

Codex usage at OpenAI gives us a preview of what agentic work may look like in the future. A new OpenAI Economic Research paper finds that agentic AI is expanding the frontier of productive work: - Users increasingly ask Codex to take on work estimated to require 30 minutes, one hour, or even eight hours of human effort. - At OpenAI, Codex became the main interface for work-related AI use across the company, including non-technical functions. - Workers use Codex for a broader mix of tasks, including debugging, validation, automation, tooling, documentation, data transformation, and structured analysis. The findings are early, but they point to a broader shift: as agents improve, people use them for more complex, longer-running, and more cross-functional work. https://lnkd.in/e_-X3NhX

We’ve designed and built our first AI chip: Jalapeño. Designed from the ground up by OpenAI and brought to production with Broadcom, Jalapeño is purpose-built for the LLM workloads powering ChatGPT, Codex, the API, and future agentic products. Chips are foundational to the AI economy. Building our own expands our full-stack platform from products to models to infrastructure, and will help us scale intelligence, serve more people, and expand access to AI. https://lnkd.in/gg8UvTwE
