Anthropology of Religion, Magic, Witchcraft
Reviewed in the United States on February 13, 2009This book is a great introduction to Anthropology. It clearly demonstrates to the reader what and how various practices came to be. This is my first exposure to the subject and this book is fascinating, informative, and fun to read. It is a text for my class, but I would have bought it just for the pleasure of learning something new, different and interesting. I would recommend this book to everyone who is interested in other cultures and religious beliefs.

Great Read
Reviewed in the United States on February 17, 2015Another great reference book that allows for extended cultural awareness. I chose this because I wanted to have a better understanding of Islam (Ch. 11)so I could better assist those from that culture. In advocacy, it is important to 'know your audience'. This was a good reference tool, but leads the reader to wanting other sources for more in depth information.

my anthropology 121 class
Reviewed in the United States on March 14, 2011Firstly, the price was excellent, less than half of what the college bookstore's price was. The condition of the book was as described, like new. Though I did get my order within the seller's estimated arrival time(3 weeks), it seemed to take a little longer than other orders that were out of state also. Thats because I really needed it for class and did get it within two weeks, its all good now.

Well written, easy to understand Anthropology book
Reviewed in the United States on December 24, 2010This book is very easy to understand and gives excellent insight into religion, magic and witchcraft. Professor Stein, the author, was my professor when I took this class and she has thorough knowledge of the subject. I would read the book even if I hadn't taken the class.

Mystic
Reviewed in the United States on January 9, 2010This book came in fantastic condition thanks to Amazon. I bought this particular book for some college courses I will be taking soon, and I dived right into the book. Depending on what you like, I would recomend it for just a knowledge read and work from there. I plan to keep this book even after my courses are finished and read all of it, just to gain what it offers.

Anthropology of Religion review
Reviewed in the United States on December 28, 2013I ordered the textbook because I intend to make it a part of my anthropology class. The book is comprehensive with examples. The speed at which the book was sent to me was far greater than expected. Very happy!
