Our founders started Digital Trends to solve a major problem: How do we introduce people to the world of technology in a way that is fun and welcoming, not intimidating and snarky?
Digital Trends was founded in 2006 by Ian Bell and Dan Gaul, and started out above a small furniture store in Lake Oswego, Oregon. Their goal was to share with the world their love for home theater, cars, and all things tech -- but from their unique viewpoint that technology should be fun, easy to use, and designed well. That vision has grown to be shared by hundreds of millions of people around the world, and our little company has expanded to more than seven offices worldwide and over a hundred amazing and inspirational employees.
Our primary reader is the HENRY millennial -- high earners, not rich yet -- people whose influence extends to both older and younger readers as they contemplate their next technology purchase. We cover products both aspirational and attainable, through a unique lifestyle approach that’s reflected in the way we write about the new products that change and shape our lives.
We hope that you find Digital Trends to be a useful guide that helps you navigate the complicated world of technology while both getting you excited and inspired in the process.
Best,
Ian Bell & Dan Gaul
