NIRF Ranking 2020 Released, IIT Madras Top Institute Again: Live Update
Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) has released NIRF India Rankings 2020 today. National Institute Ranking Framework (NIRF) was launched in 2015 and first rankings were announced in 2016.
Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) has released NIRF India Rankings 2020 today. National Institute Ranking Framework (NIRF) was launched in 2015 and first rankings were announced in 2016. NIRF ranks Indian institutes in various categories on some pre-determined broad parameters. With each passing year, the number of institutes participating in NIRF rankings has increased and so has the categories in which institutes are ranked. In 2016, the institutes were ranked in only four categories which increased to nine in 2019. The year 2019 also witnessed the launch of first ARIIA rankings.

NIRF rankings, ranking for only Indian institutes, comes at the heels of THE World University Ranking and QS World Ranking in which Indian universities have not been able to break into the top 100 so far.

June 11, 1.35 pm: Among Universities, IISc bangalore is ranked one followed by JNU at the second place.
June 11, 1.30 pm: IIT Madras has yet again emerged as the best institute in the overall category and engineering category
June 11, 1 pm: Education Minsiter has released the list of top higher education institutes. The lists will be available on NIRF website shortly.
June 11, 12.15 pm: The number of institutes which participated in the rankings has increased by 20% this year. This year about 3800 institutes applied for the rankings. Also, the first year for ranking of Dental institutes.
June 11, 12.10 pm: The online event for announcement of NIRF rankings has begun.
June 11, 11.50 am: NIRF India Rankings will be announced shortly.
June 11, 11.20 am: At the launch of the Ministry of Human Resource Development's national rankings of higher educational institutions last year, President Ram Nath Kovind said that the enrolment of girls in higher education system in the country is relatively low and an area of concern.
June 11, 11 am: NIRF Ranking 2020 will be announced in an hour. The event will be webcasted on Education Minister's Twitter account.
June 11, 10.45 am: MHRD will also release Atal Ranking of Institutions for Innovation Achievements or ARIIA rankings today. This will be the second year of ARIIA rankings.
June 11, 10.30 am: NIRF rankings, going by 2019 lists, will be released for nine categories - Overall rankings, University, Engineering, College, Management, Pharmacy, Law, Architecture, and Medical.
June 11, 10.10 am: NIRF rankings are awarded based on the following parameters - Teaching, Learning and Resources, Research and Professional Practices, Graduation Outcomes, Outreach and Inclusivity, and Perception.
June 11, 9.45 am: Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal 'Nishank' announced yesterday on twitter that he would be releasing NIRF rankings 2020 on June 11 at 12 pm.

June 11, 9.20 am: NIRF Rankings 2020 will be released by the Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal 'Nishank' and will be webcasted on the Minister's official Twitter page.
June 11, 9 am: This year NIRF rankings had to be delayed due to COVID-19 crisis. In the past few years, MHRD had released NIRF rankings in April.
June 11, 8.45 am: NIRF Rankings 2020 will be released at noon today on the official NIRF website.
