SCAW’s IACUC Training Workshop educates and trains individuals who work with laboratory animals in research, testing and education. They include IACUC members and administrators, Principal Investigators, Attending Veterinarians, Active Scientific Investigators, regulatory personnel and laboratory animal care staff. The regional workshop format lets small groups discuss specific topics that are relevant to IACUC functions. Each workshop is structured in similar design, with slight changes made to meet local needs.
It is expected that the workshops will be approved for hours of continuing education credit in jurisdictions which recognize AAVSB RACE approval; however participants should be aware that some boards have limitations on the number of hours accepted in certain categories and/or restrictions on certain methods of delivery of continued education. The campus is located on the Red Line at the Medical Center Metro stop. Proceed to the NIH Gateway Center for security clearance.
All NIH visitors must go through a security clearance at the NIH Gateway Center to receive a visitor’s badge. Visitors may be required to pass through a metal detector and have bags/purses inspected or x-rayed. All visitors must present a government-issued photo ID to enter the campus.
NOTE: ALLOW at least 45 mins to get thru security. There are multiple meeting the same days and we have an 8AM start. Security opens at 6:00 AM. The Natcher Center opens at 7:00AM workshop registration starts at 8 am.
