April TV Preview: 10 New Shows to Watch

As we say goodbye to the last vestiges of winter ("Severance," "Yellowjackets," "The Pitt,") April is here to fill the void with intrigue, comedy, and even some romance.

How does that saying go? April showers — you know what, that’s all we need to hear. With spring allegedly around the corner (I’ll believe it when I can pack up my coats), spring TV is at least in full swing. As we say goodbye to the last vestiges of winter (“Severance,” “Yellowjackets,” “The Pitt”), April is here to fill the void with intrigue, comedy, and even some romance.

If it’s too soon to say goodbye to “The Pitt,” try Netflix’s “Pulse” for a 20 CCs of medical drama — and, of course, some requisite romantic tension between colleagues in a high-stakes field. The streamer also debuts “Bad Influence: The Dark Side of Kidfluencing,” a cautionary docuseries about child stardom in the internet age, and “Ransom Canyon” which has Josh Duhamel and Minka Kelly in TEXAS. On Prime Video, there’s Kevin Bacon in and as “The Bondsman,”  as well as exciting new projects from Ramy Youssef (“#1 Happy Family U.S.A.”) and Amy Sherman-Palladino (“Étoile”). Apple continues to deploy its star power with Jon Hamm in “Your Friends and Neighbors” and David Oyelowo in “Government Cheese.”

And while we reserve returning titles and top picks for our platform-specific streaming roundups, consider this IndieWire’s official endorsement of Kim Rosenstock and Elizabeth Meriwether’s “Dying for Sex,” starring Michelle Williams and Jenny Slate. You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you’ll binge it in one setting. Plans for the month: sorted.

Here are 10 new shows to watch in April 2025.
