Barely recovered from the pandemic and dual strikes, the industry now faces the threat of tariffs, which is sowing confusion for global financing, co-production and sales. But at the same time, there’s an air of resilience in many Asian territories, as local fare including Japanese anime, K-pop concert pics, Southeast Asian horror and heartwarming dramas are on a tear, filling space left by a retreating Hollywood.
