Talk box

From Simple English Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A Heil talk box

A talk box (also written as talkbox and talk-box) is an effects unit. It changes the sound of a musical instrument by using a person's voice. A person puts a tube into their mouth and moves their mouth to change how the instrument sounds (similar to singing). Talk boxes are used with many instruments, such as guitars and keyboards.

Many famous music artists have used talk boxes. Peter Frampton used a talk box for much of his music. Some popular examples are his songs "Do You Feel Like We Do" and "Show Me the Way".[1] Other music artists who used talk boxes for music are Stevie Wonder, Jeff Beck, and Walter Becker.[2][3]
