Got Monster? New Stills From 'THE HOST'
Blog.empas.com, along with Twitchfilm.net, now have up a bunch of brand new stills from Bong Joon-Ho�s "The Host." Check out the stills HERE."The Host" is the tale of a giant monster (which is being created by Weta, Orphanage, and Creature Workshop) that shows up in the waters of a heavily populated Korean fishing port, causing all sorts of havoc and destruction.
Neve Campbell Returns To The Horror Genre
Horrorchannel.com reports that Neve Campbell is getting ready to 'scream' once again as she returns to the horror genre with "Adina.""Adina" aims to be a deviation from the recent cinematic entries into horror filmdom. Neve will star as the titular Adina, a young woman who is not quite human and is struggling to fit into a world where she may or may not have to kill.
"Adina" is in preproduction right now, with Nicolas Roeg ("Don�t Look Now," "The Man Who Fell to Earth") at the helm, and costarring Jonathan Rhys Meyers.
'GRINDHOUSE' Is Invaded By Zombies and A Slasher
Variety.com is reporting that The Weinstein Co.'s highly anticipated experimental pic -- for which Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez are each set to helm a 60-minute horror tale -- is headed into production in the coming weeks, with Rodriguez readying to shoot his segment on his home turf of Austin, Texas.Rodriguez's part, "Planet Terror," will be a zombie pic, while Tarantino's section, "Death Proof," will a slasher seg. Casting hasn't been announced.
The Weinstein Co. plans on releasing "Grind" later this year.
No, It's Pronounced 'Eye-Gore'
Variety.com is reporting that The Weinstein Co. is continuing its animation run by picking up North American rights to Exodus Film Group's upcoming CG-animated comedy "Igor."Penned by Chris McKenna, "Igor" is a twist on the monster genre, following a mad scientist's hunchbacked lab assistant who has big dreams of winning the Evil Science Fair.
Pic will expand on Exodus' upcoming animated short "Igor: Unholy Frijoles." The short features such voice talent as Christian Slater in the lead role, with Jay Leno, Steve Buscemi and John Cleese supporting.

He grows into a revenge-hungry demon hunter who must reprioritize when he finds some of the humans in his world are worse than the spirits.
78th Annual Academy Award Nominations
Oscar.com now has up the complete list of nominess for the 78th Annual Academy Awards.Among those nominated are Josh Olson, who is up for Best Adapted Screenplay for David Cronenberg�s "A History of Violence" (based on John Wagner and Vince Locke�s graphic novel), and William Hurt was recognized for Best Supporting Actor as that film�s eccentric gangster. Also, Howard Berger is in the running for Best Makeup (a first for the KNB EFX team) along with Tami Lane for "The Chronicles of Narnia." Peter Jackson�s "King Kong" is in the running for Art Direction, Visual Effects, Sound Editing and Sound Mixing.
