Brain Network has been going strong for the last year, thanks in great part to our loyal readership. Over the past year, we have opened two sites, Sci-Fi Brain and Horror Brain, and posted over 800 pieces of original content between the two sites. We have developed a loyal following of genre fans and have some of the most talented volunteers you would ever find on a site. To keep the momentum going forward and give our site more visibility, we have decided to change formats. Beginning today, we have moved our format and location over to IGN's blog site. You will find all the great content you have become accustomed to, including news, reviews and fan submissions on the Sci-Fi Brain Blog and Horror Brain Blog. We think this change will allow Brain to become everything it should be and we hope you will migrate with us to the sites and become members of the new community.

New 'Voltron' DVD Details

IGN DVD is reporting that on September 26, 2006, Media Blasters will release Voltron: Defender of the Universe - Volume 1 on DVD. The DVD will provide the first 15 episodes of the beloved franchise, and will feature a host of bonus materials and extra features.

Larter Says 'Heroes' Will Surprise

scifi.com is reporting that Ali Larter, who stars in the upcoming NBC SF drama Heroes, told SCI FI Wire that audiences will be surprised by the ensemble series, about average people who suddenly discover they possess supernatural powers.

"I'm so excited to be part of the show," Larter said in an interview during a break in filming on the set of her upcoming movie Resident Evil: Extinction here."It's about 10 characters from all over the world [who] discover they have these extraordinary abilities. It's not like X-Men, where all of a sudden we're flying and we know what we are. It's more a question of if you are sitting right there and you figure out that you can hear everyone else's thoughts, but you have to ... come to work every day, and you have to take your kids to school, and you still have to pay your bills."

'A Scanner Darkly' Resembles Reality

Sony To Release 'Southland Tales'

Sony Home Entertainment has picked the movie up for theatrical and home entertainment distribution, though it hasn't been decided which Sony label will handle the theatrical release of the movie.

PKD's Kin Had 'A Scanner Darkly' Input

scifi.com is reporting that Richard Linklater, director of the upcoming film adaptation of Philip K. Dick's SF book A Scanner Darkly, told SCI FI Wire that the author's daughters had unprecedented involvement in the making of the movie.

"They were never so involved with any of the film projects of any of their father's writings that were brought to film, and it was great," Linklater said in an interview. "They knew it was a very personal story for him. ... I wanted to stay faithful to the book, not do an adaptation or inspired-by, and wanted to tell the whole story."
