EXPN's X Games Begin

Surfing, skating, motocross, and even rally racing hits the airwaves on ESPN and ABC.

July 27, 2006 - While politics seem to take prominence over athletics in recent Olympic years, X Games refreshingly brings out a whole different breed of contestants. Replace theatric jump board dives with BMX bikes plunging to the dirt and you have the 12th X Games, airing on ESPN and ABC from August 3rd to the 6th.

Extreme events include skating (divided by gender), BMX, moto X, surfing and rally racing. Each year the raw festivities draw star players including Dave Mirra--and this year is no different. Catch all the events and don't miss out on all the grinds, spins, and back flips that have propelled the tournament from the underground into the spotlight. For more info check out the official EXPN page.
