Barney Frank to give Valerie Russell Lecture at General Synod

U.S. Rep. Barney Frank (D-Mass.) will deliver the fifth Valerie E. Russell Lecture on June 25 at General Synod. The lecture, presented by the UCC-related Christians for Justice Action, is part of CJA's biennial luncheon, where the "Burning Bush Awards" will be presented to largely unsung UCC justice advocates.

The National Council of Churches in the Philippines has appealed to churches worldwide to support it an upcoming conference in Washington D.C. where it will seek "an international ecumenical response" to continuing extra-judicial killings and "an appalling culture of impunity" in their country.

NCC, HarperSanFrancisco unveil 'Go-Anywhere Bible,' new publishing relationship

The National Council of Churches and HarperSanFrancisco have announced the launch of the "Go-Anywhere Bible," a new line of convenient-sized Bibles in the New Revised Standard Version, which is commonly used by UCC and other mainline Protestant churches.
