1. Do you know of any soccer games coming out this year in the US for the PS2?
2. Are there any plans for a Colin McRae Rally game (or any good rally racing game) for the PS2?
3. Finally is F1 2001 (the Formula 1 game published by Sony that was released in Europe: http://ps2.ign.com/previews/14473.html --i looked at the screenshots and it is the same game that was reviewed in another website and I believe the game was called F1 2001) going to be released in the US? If not, why!? Because EA's formula 1 sucks, so is there another F1 game coming out in the US besides EA's?
1. EA's FIFA, bam!'s localization of the Jaleco Greatest Striker game, maybe another Konami game.
2. There will be a McRae game from Codemasters on PS2, that's been confirmed. There will also be the Evolution Studios WRC game, although that has not been confirmed for American release. And, of course, there's GT3, which has a pretty impressive rally mode.
3. Conversation:
IGN: Hey, Sony, is that European F1 game coming out here?
Sony: What's Europe?
SCEA will not say word one about any Euro games until they decide to officially announce their release. That goes for Dropship, Airblade, Wipeout Fusion, and all the rest. We're pretty sure it's coming, but there's been no official word.

Have you guys tried Mosquito Ka? I got it on import and it is the most fun quick game I've got on the PS2. Could you guy start talking about it and generate some buzz so it'll get released here. I don't usually use puns, that was a mistake, its so lame its funny though.
We dug the mosquito game at the spring TGS, but we can't afford the import. I doubt anything we said could convince anyone to localize it, though.
Pack
Mind telling us how many controllers come in the PS2 GT3 Racing Pack?
One. It's an ordinary PS2 package with the game added.

I'm not all that sure if this question has been asked before, but what the hey. When reading the Car of the Day review for Gran Turismo 3: A-Spec, I noticed that the PS and HP of each car has dramatically gone up ... Why ? The cars seem to be stock, and very similar to the Gran Turismo 2 version. The Ford GT40 Racing Car for example, had 492 HP in GT2. Now, it has 666 HP. That's a BIG difference ... Where did these HP come from ?
You can tune many of the race models in GT3, which you couldn't do in GT2. Dave Z has modified many of the cars in his garage, hence the new numbers in the screenshots.
Emu
You've probably answered this before, but just to clarify: Will FF Chronicles have the same emulation problems on the ps2 as FF Anthology did?
Hasn't caused me any problems.
Whine
Eeww! That American box art for Dragon Warrior VII is hideous! Absolutely Repulsive!
Exactly the same as the Japanese version, too, 'cept for the new logo and the American sidebar thingy.
Tunes
Do you guys have any idea if the new Smackdown 3 game will have the original
music ported over to the game or will it be some lame elevetor music/j-pop
renditions?
I think you exaggerate a little, but anyway, some of THQ's producers have indicated that they're making an effort to get licensed themes. So I guess that's a solid maybe.
Cast
Just a quick question about Tekken 4. OK, so we have most of the characters noticed...but where is Jin? Is he in the game? He has to be! He was my favorite character in all the Tekkens he was in. What about that old guy whose name escapes me now?
Old guy...I dunno. There's a couple of old guys. You're probably thinking about Heihachi. Anyway, neither Jin nor Heihachi is listed as one of the immediately selectable characters, but I'll bet they're both time-locked/unlockable characters. Heihachi is naturally one of the key players in the story, and there are allusions to Jin in Xiaoyu's backstory.
Time
I am seriously considering buying Escape From Monkey Island but I was
wondering, for an average Joe like me who hasn't playes any of the other
previous Monkey island games, how long should this game take to beat?
Depends on how good you are at solving puzzles. If you're not too adept at adventure games, it's possible to get stuck at times. Somebody who's good at puzzle-solving could do it in a bit under 10 hours their first time, I think.
