Q&A;
Girly Fran is out sick. Matt runs the site by his lonesome. QA suffers drastically. Well, a little bit anyway.
Animal Forest Pl-US.
Dear Matt:
How are you guys doing? Thanks for all the past Gamecube news; we [the readers] really appreciate it. I was wondering if you have any details on Animal Forest Plus was coming to North America? Thanks.
Steve Van RootselaarMatt responds: I know that Animal Forest + is coming to the US. I just don't know when. My best guess is sometime during the first half of 2002.
Battery.
Hey Matt,
Just wondering when the battery for the mobile monitor is coming out? I thought it was supposed to be out by now.
Matt responds: It was originally supposed to ship in mid-December, but the battery has since been delayed slightly for a January 2002 debut. So be sure to bring that car adapter if you're planning a long trip!
Single.
Hi. My parents just got me a new gamecube. YAY!! Anyway, they want to know
what game I want and I was wondering what would be a good with all these
great games out on the cube and whatnot. I will most likely play by myself.
And I was wondering, is Super Smash Bros. Melee a good one-player game? Thx
and keep up the awesome work!
Matt responds: Super Smash Bros. Melee has an improved single-player mode over the original, but it's still a game that's meant to be played with multiple people. You might do better to check out Pikmin or Wave Race if you're not planning to have a go with a couple of buddies.
Transfering Saves.
Hey guys,
I just recently signed up for IGN Insider and I'm glad I did so I won't miss out on all the great gaming news. Keep up the excellent work! I just want to ask if the GameCube memory cards have data transfer capabilities between them. Can I transfer saved game info from one to another? Thanks,
DrPharaoh (avid Smash Brothers fan)
Matt responds: Yep. Just hold the A button when booting your GameCube up. The logo will spin into the primary functions interface, where you will be able to manage your memory cards. You can transfer data from one card to the other here.
How Many?
Hi I have a question about Eternal Darkness's characters. SK says that ED will have 12 different characters for us to play, all in different time zones and places. But when I went to my local game store (Funcoland) to buy a new GC controller I saw a ED box showcasing in the store. What interested me was that, when I picked up the box and look at the back, it said "YOU ARE ABLE TO PLAY THROUGH 3 CHARCTERS". What is that?!? Exactally how many characters can you play in ED??
Thanks for reading. Hope this confusion will soon be cleared.
Matt responds: Eternal Darkness features 12 different, totally playable characters. The information Funcoland had is wrong.
Spice.
Is the Spice Orange GAMECUBE going to get a US release?
Matt responds: So far only the spice controller is available in the US. Nintendo has not announced any plans to bring the spice-colored console to America. Which, I might add, kind of sucks.
Huh?
Matt,
Next-Gen magazine states that the Gamecube's hardware power (or lack
there of) will ultimately be its achilles heal in the long run. Do you
agree with this assertion?
CMatt responds: No. In fact, with all due respect to NextGen, I believe that analysis is perhaps the most unfounded of any I have ever heard. I read the article you're referring to and frankly, I thought it was a complete misrepresentation and totally inaccurate comparison of the respective hardware.
