There's not much more to say about Call of Duty 4 at this point, other than we want the darn thing to come out already. The single-player and multiplayer components each look like the most ambitious yet in this already acclaimed series--and when you put them together in one package, that's a whole lot of game. Keep your eyes here later this week for the PC single-player demo so you can get a taste of that campaign for yourself.
GameSpy As for now, we're anxiously awaiting next month's release of Call of Duty 4. Not only have the locale and terms of engagement changed, but the degree of focus that Infinity Ward has placed on multiplayer has been dramatically increased. Rather than slapping together the usual modes we usually see in these types of shooters, the developer has put as much energy into creating an online experience that matches the game's single-player storyline.
ActionTrip Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare is slated to ship in early November and from my hands on time here today, it looks ready for its release date. With amazing combat and tense missions that are the hallmark of a Call of Duty title from Infinity Ward and the multiplayer component that is going to have people playing, LONG after they complete the single player game. This is one title that is going to be a front runner for Game of the Year and soon everyone will be able to see why.
FiringSquad Actually, its rather amazing how well Call of Duty and CoD2 skills translate to the game, the consistency in the feel among the various versions of the game is remarkable. The game has a very high skill cap and though nobody will be going 100-0 like in NetQuake, it was painfully obvious when someone whod played a lot of Call of Duty got warmed up.
Gaming Nexus Call of Duty has been one of my favorite series on the PC and it looks like Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare will deliver again with an intense single player experience and fun multiplayer components. Its coming out at a crowded time but I have a feeling the games going to be one of the big sellers of that time frame. Infinity Ward looks like they have another winner on their hands and I for one cant wait to play it on the PC again.
Shack News As a longtime PC shooter fan, I couldn't help but feel more at home with the PC controls than the dual analog sticks of the Xbox 360 version, though to be fair Infinity Ward has proven it is one of the few developers able to do console FPS controls properly, and the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of the game should be extremely playable. Still, it's nice to see Infinity Ward bring the series back to the platform that spawned it.
Be sure to check out all of those previews!

[...]check out never-before-seen footage of soldiers showing the IW crew how to properly breach hallways, clear rooms and cover one another. You'll see our guys were watching carefully, as capturing the proper techniques of modern-day soldiers was really important to ensuring the game came out as authentic as possible.
You'll also notice a lot of the filming happened here, at our headquarters, including the hands-on time with the ghillie suit.
It all sounds fantastic fun, but a nightmare to balance. Fortunately, IW seem to be on to this, with Perk slots disappearing if your weapons become too ludicrously powerful. And getting to access these things won't take more than a few rounds of combat.
With the PC version getting the fanciest graphics and the largest multiplayer fields, it seems the series is coming home.
