Ubisoft's FUZE 07 is coming up
Posted at 8:05 PST by Rifter | Ubi Soft News
FUSE 07, the UKs key gaming and music event, has been confirmed to take place at the legendary Shepherds Bush Empire on Friday 2nd November. As part of London Games Festival, Fuse 07 is the only collaboration that brings together fans of music and videogames and will build on the success of FUSE 06, which was held last year in Newbury.
FUSE 07 will bring together two thousand gaming and music fans and a host of stars under one roof. The event will see some of the UK's most skilled gaming clans fight it out in a tournament final.
An incredible Gibson Battle of the Bands competition is to launch imminently giving unsigned bands across the country the chance to play on the night. These winners will play alongside an established headline act.
The cross over between games and music is an obvious one. FUSE events help to provide something exciting and fun for the gaming community and a wider audience. said Phil Brannelly, Senior Ubisoft Brand Manager.
Attendees will also get the chance to play yet to be released titles from Ubisoft.
Check out the website at www.myspace.com/fuseexplosion to find out more about the games and music at FUSE 07 and details of how you can get tickets for the event.

Interview with Richard Dansky
Posted at 8:20 PST by Rifter | Splinter Cell News
The Fairer Sects has an interview with Ubisoft's Richard Dansky. He talks about the upcoming game, Splinter Cell: Conviction. It is a great interview about the game.
Question 4: It has been announced that the overall game play style of Splinter Cell is about to be seriously overhauled. How do you feel this will change an already ground breaking franchise?
As a game developer and as a gamer, my feeling has always been if you can make something better, you go for it. Splinter Cell is, as you say, a ground-breaking franchise, so its within the franchise tradition to keep trying new and different gameplay elements. If you dont innovate, sooner or later other games are going to pass you by, so its always worthwhile to keep looking for new ways to develop on whats been there before. That doesnt mean throwing the baby out with the bathwater, but it does mean that its a good thing to be willing to take chances and to try to take that next step.

Advance and Secure game type
Posted at 12:26 PST by Rifter | Ghost Recon News
Over on http://www.ghostrecon.net/, I noticed that they have news about a new game type by Cangaroo.TNT, called Advance and Secure.
In Advance and Secure you must secure three objectives before the enemy, the catch being only one objective is available at a time, and they vary from buildings, vehicles, assets, or even personnel. There's a detailed scoring system to ensure tactics will win the day, rather than simply destroying the enemy. Coloured smoke will indicate which team holds the objective.
You can go here, to download the new game type.

GRAW 2 PC review at Gamezone
Posted at 5:11 PST by Rifter | Ghost Recon News
Gamezone has a review of Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter 2 - PC up. They give the game a solid 8. Interesting review.
The first Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter (GRAW) was generally well-received, and for good reason, as it offered some intense, compelling squad-based gameplay. Many gamers initially decried its high difficulty, but many others seemed to thrive on the challenge. Regardless of which camp you may have fallen into, its important to note that GRAW was a commendable addition to the pantheon of squad-based tactical gaming. Fans of the original title are likely to embrace its sequel as well, as the GRIN team has upped the gaming ante in several key areas. At the same time, however, while GRAW 2 is well worth a buy, it also has issues, some of which linger on from the first installment, that are sure to raise an eyebrow and cause a bit of frustration along the way.
