Hi, I'm the new Site Manager here at AC Vault. For the last four years, I've been the Assistant Site Manager for AC Vault, was hired to bring that experience to improve AO Vault, and then promoted to Site Manager for AC Vault to, er, bring back that experience. Hang on there! But I can't do that alone...

Asheron's Call Vault is seeking staff to join our team to bring this site up to a standard to make it the best it can be. If you feel you have something that you can contribute, you are encouraged to send an email to me via the online form at AC Vault, or you can reply directly to this thread.

We are looking for all sorts of people; News Authors, Fan Fiction Authors, Guide Writers, even Comic Artists. If you feel you have something unique to bring to the table (yes, even something I didn't think of!) let me know.

All staff are (subject to history checks) given VIP on the VN Boards, their own custom title, and free Insider on the boards for the duration of their stay.

Even if you don't think you have the time to fully contribute, you can still submit items of interest (fan fiction, news tidbits, comics, player editorials) by sending them in an email to us

Due to operational constraints and stability issues with the December Patch, Turbine has made the decision that delaying the December update until January is in everyone�s best interest. We know this will be disappointing for those players who enjoy our monthly content, but after weighing all of our options we feel that this is the right decision given the circumstances.

In the meantime, our live events staff will be providing more events over the remainder of December and into January. Our goal with these in-game events is not only to have fun with current players, but also let those players who may return to us over the Holidays see what our live events team has been up to!

Issue 59 is up!

Frelorn was out of the office early last week, due to an accident while playing hockey. (Hope you are fully recovered now, Frelorn!) He did address several issues, including discussing the live events that went on last Thursday, that saw the spawning of Bael'Zharon on Darktide. Frelorn also expanded on the interview he did with Warcry, which is interesting to read.

On Monday December 10th, all Turbine games and websites will be down for maintenance from 8am EST - 11am EST.

On Thursday December 6th between the hours of 8pm EST � 10pm EST we will be running live events on all of the worlds. These are lore based events and they will only be running once per world. Announcements will go out on each world as the events are happening, so make sure you are paying attention so you too can take part in the continuing story of Asheron�s Call!

Getting back into the swing of things, I'd like to kick off this week (a couple of days late, but whatever) with a new topic of the week. In the spirit of 2005's "Year in Review" topic, this one's exactly the same.

So, moving onto Asheron's Call 2007 In Review!

Issue 58 is up!

As most everyone knows, this week saw extended downtime, including most of Monday, and then Wednesday for the November Patch, Children of the Prodigal Lord Much of this week's discussions were therefore centered around the downtime, but there were also some other interesting threads. Severlin would like input from those players who participate in PvP gameplay, and Frelorn hinted at a possible single-player Colosseum in the future.

Hello and welcome to the November Release Notes. This month brings many changes to an already turbulent world. Humans and Lugians alike have seen strange happenings to members of their kind, and even the Carenzi on Marae Lassel have been reported to have some kind of strange illness. Lets see what other changes will hit Dereth this month.


Miscellaneous Changes and Improvements

• We will be running a series of scheduled and unscheduled Live Ops this month. Once we have the completed schedule, we will post it on the launcher and on the official forums.
  
  
• On the weekend of December 15-16th we will be increasing the drop rate of all Rares in the game. During this time all player who are fighting Rare eligible creatures will have an increased chance of getting a Rare drop.
  
  
• Orisis had more health then was intended. This has been fixed and his health is now more in line with what was expected.
  
  
• As a result of the extra downtime we have had this month, most of the timed content that was in for October, will remain in the game for the November event as well.
  
  
• A problem was found with the behavior of the Olthoi Flyers in the infested area of Olthoi North. These Olthoi have been removed from the area until the issue can be properly resolved.
  
  
• The text seen by players, who have been banned from the game, now has the new link to our ban appeals team.
  
  
• A few more masks or headgear as it were, have been added in this month. It seems some things just needed some last minute fixes by the mask makers.
  
  
• Some additional items have been added to the various special vendors throughout Dereth. These vendors are located at the Colosseum, Infested Olthoi area, and the Graveyard, respectively. Make sure you check them out to see what new items they have in stock.
  
  
• There appears to be some sort of plague affecting the Carenzi of Marae Lassel.
  
  
• The Prodigal Shadow Dungeon is now a landblock that does not unload. This means that all corpse decay timers will be exact for that dungeon. This also means that players will no longer have to �hold the landblock� to prevent it from resetting.

So there are just some of the things we have in store for Asheron's Call in November. Please remember that along with everything listed here, there are several new quests and exciting things going into the game for the November event.

Children of the Prodigal Lord

A cold wind blew from the north into Ayan Baqur, bringing the chill of winter even to this desert town. Crouched by the side of the Smoking Axe tavern in an effort to keep warm, Ulgrim the Unpleasant shivered and mournfully tapped his empty mug against the ground.

�An empty mug is a shame forever,� he muttered to himself. Sensing movement in the corner of his eye, he looked up. The moon was full and very bright tonight, bathing the entire town in a surreal silver glow that seemed very appropriate to the chill in the air. In this light, he saw a figure wrapped in a voluminous cowled robe, coming out of the scribe�s building. The figure paused, twisting uncertainly. Then he seemed to notice the old man staring at him from the front of the tavern. He started walking toward the tavern with a preternaturally smooth stride that reminded Ulgrim somehow of a predator stalking prey.

Issue 57 is up!

Understandably, it was a quiet week on the forums, due to the Thanksgiving holiday. Frelorn noted that November's patch would be a bit late, but still planned for the end of November. and Django gave some interesting information about steel chests and scroll generation.

This was a quiet week on the forums, due in part to the holiday on Monday, and the team's preparations for the upcoming November patch.

One issue that was discussed was the old bug where the cursor gets stuck in "hourglass" mode, and Django offered some possible work-arounds.
