It’s easy to stay in touch with friends and family if you are living in or travelling around Spain. International phone calls costs are cheap and buying a mobile phone in Spain is better value than in the UK.

If you are from North America, your normal phone won´t work here. You will need to buy or rent a GSM mobile phone with SIM card installed.

Satellite TV

Satellite TV in Spain is widespread. There are many foreign satellite channels that can be watched with the right equipment.

Sky TV can be received easily in Spain and many channels such as the BBC are free to air and don't require a card.

Telephone

Telefonica is the biggest phone operator in Spain. As in the UK, there are other operators which provide very low cost calls from Spanish fixed lines with no changes to your phone, line or number. It pays to shop around before to committing to any one provider.

Internet access

Internet access in Spain is widely available with 39% of the population using the Internet, although the take up of Broadband has been lower. There are both cable and ADSL providers and you can expect to pay from 35 euros per month with installation from 100 euros upwards.
