Waiting to be noticed will always put you a step behind the people that actively seek a job; there's no guarantee that a potential employer will stumble across the fruits of your labor, after all. If you want to be proactive about it, I'd suggest taking a look at the jobs page. If scripting is your forte, take a look at the technical designer position. There have been a number of designers who entered the industry through that role.
Edit: We don't appear to have any openings in that position at the moment, but what I said still stands. There's nothing to gain in waiting.
