    Batman
    Created by Bob Kane and Bill Finger, Batman is the superhero star of the long-running DC Comics series since his first appearance in Detective Comics #27 in May 1939. Batman's secret identity is Bruce Wayne, the wealthy industrialist who dedicated his life to fighting crime after seeing his parents murdered.

    The Joker is a character from the Batman comic-book series.

    He’s certainly the most famous of Batman’s foes, and he has a good claim to being the greatest comic-book villain of all time. The Clown Prince of Crime (as he called himself in his campy 1960s incarnation) could probably get away with calling himself a legitimate cultural icon.
