Al Pacino to star in Philip Roth adaptation

Al Pacino has acquired the rights to Philip Roth's latest novel, The Humbling, according to a story in The New York Times. Pacino will star in the film adaptation of the novel, about an aging, irreverent stage actor who looks for renewal through a relationship with a younger woman.

Amazon.com released its list of weekly bestselling Kindle e-books on December 15. For the week ending December 12, James Patterson's I, Alex Cross was in the lead, followed by Sue Grafton's U is for Undertow and Dan Brown's The Lost Symbol.
'The Lost Symbol' tops US best-selling audio books of 2009

Nielsen BookScan has released its list of the US's best-selling audio books of the year. Topping the list is Dan Brown's The Lost Symbol, which is also the year's best-selling adult fiction title. In second is Rhonda Byrne's The Secret, followed by The Shack by William P. Young.
