Bernanke says economy improving, faces headwinds

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke said on Monday the shell-shocked U.S. economy has improved, but cautioned that the recovery remains fragile and the jobless rate may remain elevated for some time.
