CES 2010: Android Phones Coming to AT&T;

January 07, 2010 - At CES this afternoon, AT&T; announced that they would be bringing five new Android phones to their wireless network. The phones will be produced by three major manufacturers; Dell, Motorola, and HTC. While specific details were scarce, we did learn that a Motorola model will be based on the MotoBlur, and that the HTC and Dell devicess will be AT&T; exclusives. More »

CES 2010: 4G Overdrive Mobile Hotspot from Sprint

January 07, 2010 - Today Sprint announced the introduction of their latest wireless networking solution with the Overdrive 3G/4G Mobile Hotspot by Sierra Wireless. Overdrive enables users to create mobile network hotspots anywhere 3G/4G networks are available by converting the nationwide wireless network into Wi-Fi signal for any Wi-Fi-enabled device. The system can connect to up to five Wi-Fi devices simultaneously, such as cameras, computers, and even gaming devices. In fact, Sprint claims that the Overdrive system can handle portable online gaming, and this week at CES, IGN is teaming up with Sprint and 2K Games to test out gaming in 4G with playable Bioshock 2 multiplayer in a special gaming rig outside of the Las Vegas Convention Center. CES 2010: Sony Introduces dash App Device

January 07, 2010 - This afternoon Sony held their regular Consumer Electronics Show press conference, which occurs every year at their larger than life exhibition space within the Las Vegas Convention Center. Per usual, the conference had plenty of new additions to the company's core product series, including updates to their Bravia displays, Cyber-Shot series and more, but this year also included a brand new product type, the Sony dash. The dash is a brand new product for accessing web-based content in the home without utilizing a full computer system. Instead, it packs specially tailored web content such as Twitter, video streams, and more into a small, alarm-clock device that you can position anywhere in your home Wi-Fi network. More »
