The Sustainable Biodiesel Alliance (SBA) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization created to promote sustainable practices, including the harvesting and collection, production and distribution of biodiesel fuels. These efforts include Environmental, Social and Economic sustainability. The ultimate goal of the alliance is to create certification for sustainability in biodiesel that will provide transparency to the customer and build extra value for a more sustainable, local product.

February 1, 2010 [Los Angeles] – Green Music Group (GMG), a coalition of environmental non-profit Reverb, celebrated its official launch this past weekend in Hollywood, CA. The high-profile coalition brings together musicians, industry leaders and music fans to create widespread environmental change within the music industry and around the globe. To celebrate its launch, Green Music Group founding members and friends gathered at Jane’s House in Hollywood for live performances by members of Dave Matthews Band, Guster, and Maroon 5. Guests were treated to eco-friendly appetizers and drinks provided by Shin’s BBQ, VeeV, ZICO, Eel River, and Newton’s Vineyard. “Tonight we celebrated a watershed moment – music industry leaders and fans coming together to create significant change. Reverb has been helping individual artists and venues green their tours and shows for the last six years. Individuals, companies and municipalities across the country are taking steps to first recognize, and then minimize their negative impact on the environment and their communities. By choosing to harness the power of alternative energy and fuels and being more aware of the impact their purchasing decisions have on the world around them; many are making progress. In today's world however, "not all biodiesel is created equal". Some biodiesel sold in the United States is created from international feedstocks that travel thousands of miles before being made into biodiesel, while other biodiesel is made from local feedstocks including waste products and second use oils. Making the right choices can help support rural communities, family farmers, and local job security while minimizing negative impact to the environment.
Concerns about global warming and the U.S. dependence on foreign oil are driving a historic shift from fossil fuels to biofuels and other types of renewable energy. Now more than ever it is important to focus on the benefits of a sustainable, local model for biodiesel in the United States in order to maintain local energy and economic security.

Los Angeles, California � The Sustainable Biodiesel Alliance hosted a fundraising concert and dinner on October 24th, to gather support for the cause of community-based, sustainable biodiesel. The evening�s festivities were held at the Elevate Films rooftop loft and included a breathtaking performance by seven-time Grammy Award winner Alanis Morissette.
Rothbury, Michigan 07/05/2009 --- The SBA was on hand for the 2nd annual Rothbury Music Festival July 2nd-5th. Executive Director, Jeff Plowman and Associate Director Tanner Watt were guest speakers as part of the Environmental "Think Tank". Jeff was a panelist for the Sustainable Cities panel and Tanner was a part of the Clean Vehicles Town Hall Forum. During the weekend's festivities the Sustainable Biodiesel Alliance took the opportunity to present the 2009 Visionary Awards to Lauren Sullivan and Adam Gardner, Founders of Reverb, and to www.nearbio.com for excellence and advancement in the field of sustainability. SBA Honorary Board of Directors Chariman, Willie Nelson presented the awards to the honorees with members of the SBA team and Board of Directors.
