This Game is Free #22 -- Dungeons & Dragons: Tiny Adventures

By Gerald Villoria | PC Articles | Mar 5, 2010 4:02 PM | Comment

Dungeons & Dragons Tiny Adventures is the first Facebook game we've featured in TGIF (you'd think that a bunch of tabletop-lovin' grognards would have grokked this one earlier). Tiny Adventures is a role-playing game in only the loosest sense of the term, in that you select a fantasy character (choosing from staples like Half-elf Cleric, Drow Ranger, and the like) which then embarks on scripted adventures. Final Fantasy XIII Review

By Matt Peckham | PlayStation 3 Reviews | Mar 5, 2010 11:00 AM | Comment

The shortest distance between two points may be a line, but the longest is a gilded arrow fletched with platinum-inlaid peacock feathers and fired by Square Enix like a vector-locked cruise missile. Time in flight: 25 hours. That's what it takes to crack Final Fantasy XIII open: One-day-point-two-five convoying moody lip-flapping cliches down baroque troughs and tunnels, chutes and runways, gutters and slideways, scooping up cash and clobbering creatures -- creatures that serve as gates in the world's longest canal. No climbing over the sides or abandoning ship or motoring upriver to find a less humdrum route, because Square Enix has a story to tell, and by god you're going to listen, so buckle up and apply eyelid tape. GameSpy Predicts the Future of Videogames

By Nathan Birch | Humor | Mar 5, 2010 9:00 AM | Comment

It seems you can't turn around today without reading another prediction about the future of videogames from an "analyst" whose main source of information seems to be their own ass. Well, we're not ones to pass on what seems to be an easy and lucrative racket, so we've done a little prognostication of our own. We can't claim our predictions will be 100% accurate, but they do come with funny pictures, so suck on that, Michael Pachter Read More »

A new SOCOM game for the PlayStation 3 has been announced and is being developed by series veterans Zipper Interactive. Pure Football Actually Pure Soccer

By Bryn Williams | Xbox 360 Screenshots | Mar 5, 2010 3:51 AM

Ubisoft Vancouver is apparently nearing completion of a new soccer game, Pure Football. According to the publisher the game will launch in May and will take a slightly different approach to the beautiful game than we've seen in the likes of EA's FIFA and Konami's Pro Evo series. Based on a five-a-side game, Pure Football has a "street" look and feel and you can check out the first shots after the jump. Can it win out against the well-entrenched giants? See More »

Supreme Commander 2 Review

By Eric Neigher | PC Reviews | Mar 4, 2010 4:20 PM | Comment

If I had to use one word to describe 2007's Supreme Commander, it would've been "bloodless." Not for lack of violence, mind you, or even because the game was populated entirely by robots. No, I would've chosen "bloodless" because SupCom never made you care much about your units, the cause they were fighting for, or even if you won or lost the match. With this sequel, however, developer Gas Powered Games completely flips the script on all of the above, with consequences both good and bad. Read More »
