Street Fighter IV is easily the best fighter on the iPhone right now. But more than that, it’s just a great edition of Street Fighter. The controls work extremely well for a platform with no physical buttons. The stick is precise and responsive. And it looks fantastic. My biggest gripe is a lack of fighters or extra play modes. Eight simply is not enough. Hopefully, Capcom will update Street Fighter IV in the future with a larger cast. But don’t let that dissuade you from downloading. This is a fun play.

Street Fighter IV Impressions

About this Game

Street Fighter 4 Box Art
The masterful fourth entry in the Street Fighter series now comes to iPhone in a feature-packed mini-version of the hit fighter. Street Fighter 4 for iPhone uses an advanced virtual d-pad or "Visual Pad" control interface to immerse the player into the familiar Street Fighter combat system. Players can fully customize the Visual Pad interface by repositioning the buttons and d-pad anywhere on the screen through the options menu. Additionally, players can further refine their configuration by setting the transparency level of the controls. For newcomers to the series, a new Dojo mode unleashes the warrior within turning neophytes into Street Fighter masters. Once players hone their skills in single player mode using the game's eight characters, they can then go head-to-head against their friends via Bluetooth for bragging rights and the coveted title of Champion.
