Hundreds attend funeral of Dr. Michael Slazenger
HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE attended the funeral of retired doctor Michael Slazenger in Enniskerry last Thursday. Many of those watched the ceremony from outside, on two screens on the side wall of the church. The retired anaesthetist, whose father owned the Slazenger sports brand, died after his single-engine plane crashed on a private air-strip on his own land the previous week.
Youth sentenced for role in robbing 70-year-old man
A WICKLOW YOUTH who restrained a 70year-old man in an armchair at an old folks' complex while his accomplice searched the man's flat for cash to steal, was given a two-year suspended sentence at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court.
