While we appreciate the work
of the philosophers of the past, the debate continues. In this area we publish original philosophical works and link
to works published by others.
The
work of the philosopher is, at first, speculative. As time goes on, we are able to identify those philosophers of the past
whose ideas have led to the major ideas of the present day. Some philosophers are educators, but their skills in teaching
are distinct from their skills in shaping the thinking of the future. Thus, any listing of current philosophers will eventually
need to be pruned as we eventually find out which of these thinkers shaped the thinking of our descendants. Today, we cannot
tell; the best we can do is expose the debate that rages during our time. Our member organizations will be the first organizations
to choose among what is offered here, as well as using ideas that never made it onto our pages.
