Your 'Night Circus' Words

What's one word you'd use to describe 'The Night Circus?'
I was five when I played my first soccer game and it changed my life forever. Physical activity was always part of my childhood, as was reading. Fit minds are just as important as fit bodies, which is why I'm endorsing the Wild Soccer Bunch.
Stephen H. Warner was killed in an ambush near the Laotian border on February 14, 1971. He didn't have to be there. He wasn't supposed to be killed.
During my first year post divorce, I tried to come up with a ritual to cover every painful moment. Time flew by quickly as I did the rituals and, in the end, I had a better understanding of myself.
What I really love about her and what I wish I'd thanked her for, is not letting all that cleverness and wit get the better of her. I so wish I'd thanked her for not allowing her hurts and betrayals to make her shriveled and bitter and mean-spirited.
Like Amazon and Apple, Google is selling more than hardware -- it's selling content that people buy in its Google Play store including books, music and video.
I like to imagine a caramel-colored future where racial lines are indistinct and issues of prejudice a thing of the past. Perhaps, because I'm in the majority, I can ponder such issues with what some may say is naïveté. I would call it hope.
I'm made uncomfortable by my shadowy thoughts of getting rid of my shelves and shelves of books and just carrying around an e-reader forever. Imagine how much easier it would be for me to move?
I have been a long-time fan of Nora Ephron's work, and today I would like to honor her by showcasing her words. A magnificent craftsman of words, she taught us much...
Her heroines were witty and perceptive even while being vulnerable and appealing; they were independent and capable, yet filled with that weird fear of overdoing everything or doing everything wrong that engulfs the most stunningly competent woman.
Ephron wrote with cool clarity about aging, and physical appearance, and failed relationships. She wrote with cool clarity about what it's like to be a woman.
What better place to watch Jane Austen's books-turned-movies than a historic home dating from the same period as Austen's classic novels?
It's common to say we are now living in a post-industrial information or knowledge economy. But the shift is actually deeper and more thorough-going than that.
In addition to his famed tirades was Jobs' "reality distortion field." Jobs would draw a picture of the world that seemed to defy all reality. At worst, he simply lied. At best, he cast a vision of what could be and then got others caught up in making that vision a new reality.
Let's get it out on the table, right up front. I am a guy, and not apologetic about this. I'm a person with a paunch, with bristly whiskers that my wife wants shaved (I won't), and a tendency to talk about myself.
Israel's fateful hour is approaching. The chances of Israel existing by mid-century are no more than twenty percent if its governments continue to pursue the settlement project.
Getting the justification right is every storyteller's goal, and one of the more challenging aspects of storytelling. Aristotle said that the end of an effective plot must be "unexpected but inevitable."
To be honest, I suspect my hands would still shake if I did it again today. I still might think: Who am I to be writing to her? I'm still not brave in the way I imagine her to be, but these days I usually put the letter in the mailbox in the end. And Nora Ephron gets some credit for that.
If an otherwise good author may find it difficult to publish, but has something interesting to contribute to the conversation of his or her community, then by all means, put the idea out there and let it stand or fall based on its merits.
