Thermo Fisher Scientific’s $15.4 billion bid for Life Technologies Corp pushed the aggregate value of year-to-date healthcare M&A activity to $47.6 billion, a 45% increase compared to the same time last year and the strongest annual start for healthcare deal making in two years.
