They provide dynamic, database driven content, often hosted on separate, clustered database servers, sharing a single storage array over fibre channel network. Enterprise Solution Example
Below is an example of a typical enterprise solution, based on a busy, database driven, content managed website. This particular solution requires guaranteed uptime, which is partly why we have opted for dual load balanced (lower spec) web servers, rather than a single, (high spec) web server which would not provide the same required level of redundancy.
In this example, clustered database servers were not viable, due to the client’s budget limitations, with this restriction in place, our engineers opted to provide the database redundancy by replicating database content to the secondary web server. Although not a conventional solution, this configuration enabled us to provide our client with full redundancy at a fraction of the monthly cost of database server clustering. A great example of our flexibility when working to suit our client’s budget and technical requirements.
