Not a single person on this planet would disagree that Blogger (Blogspot) and Wordpress are two of the best blogging platforms on the web and all other platforms comes after these two. We also know that most of experienced bloggers prefers to use wordpress over bloggers due to its several merits over blogger.

But it does not mean that Wordpress is better than Blogger in everything. Blogger has also got edge over wordpress in many things which I am going to mention one by one in my list below: I am not mentioning all the factors but only 5 of them.

So Here are the 5 Merits of Blogger Over Wordpress:

Setup: you can setup a blogger blog much easier in comparison with the wordpress. it will take just few minutes and your blogger blog will be ready for the posting. on other hand setting up wordpress is much more complicated. even a newbie who does not know much about blogging can setup a blogger blog easily by simply going to blogger.com and signing up.

Security: As we know Blogger is owned by Google and security of Google is almost unbreakable. Blogger is very secure and its almost impossible to hack a blogger blog. at least I never heard in my life about hacking of a blogspot blog. on other hand everyday we hear about hacking of blogs hosted on wordpress. its a huge advantage of blogger over WP. you don't need to keep a backup of your blogger blog because it can't get hacked. on other hand there are always fears of WP hacking so we need to keep backup of our blog.

Using Adsense: It is allowed to use Google Adsense on free blogger blogs however you can't use adsense on free wordpress blogs. If you want to use adsense on blogger blog that follows Google quality guidelines then you can do it easily. on other hand to use adsense on wordpress you will first have to buy a domain and hosting. Adsense is a advertising program that bloggers uses on their blogs to make money.

Hosting Cost: There is no hosting cost on Blogger no matter how much data you post. you get free hosting and a sub-domain. even if you use a .com custom domain you will not have to pay for hosting. on the other hand you will have to pay for hosting your blog on wordpress on yearly basis. some hosting plans are really costly. enjoy free hosting on blogger and make as much blogs as you want.

Indexing: it is often noticed that Google Search engine indexes new blogger blogs more quickly than new wordpress blogs. the more quickly you will get index the more soon you will start to get traffic to your blog.

We read the terms of Real Content or Original content too often on various blogs, forums and groups mentioned by our fellow bloggers. This sentence is often seen that we should create original content if we want our websites/blogs to be really successful. Content is King is another famous sentence. But the question that arises here is what real or original content actually is? we don't see answer of this question very often.

Original Content

Well Original content means the content that is not copied from anywhere else and also not rewritten after seeing another article. Original content contains purely your ideas and views and you write it from your own mind. the real or original content becomes great content when it is written in a great way that can attract the readers.

Original content is the key to make your website or blog successful by getting high Ranking in Search engines. more than 80% new bloggers makes the mistake of not posting real content on their sites which results in their failure.

Write real, attractive and enough content if your target is to make your blog successful. nothing is more important than original content in blogging. other factors like SEO, Backlinks, design comes later on. Search Engines loves the content of good quality.

Importance of Fresh Content Is Increasing:

In recent months it has been noticed that Google has started to give lot of Importance to the fresh content in Search Engine Ranking. Even I done lots of mistakes when I started the blogging and I am paying for those mistakes even now many years later. Copied Content: Most of new bloggers copies content from other sites and blogs. they think they don't need to write themselves and they can get success by simply copying content from other blogs to their blog. Well this is wrong. you can never be successful by copying content of other sites. you need to write your own original content if you really want to be successful. Search Engines Like Google are capable of catching copied content.

No Patience: Lots of new bloggers wants success to come very quickly and when they not see it in 2,3 months they becomes upset and leaves blogging. Well in blogging patience is really important to be successful. it may take more than a year to make a blog really successful. so keep patience and keep working with consistency. When you will continue to produce good content then nobody can stop you from being successful.

Hidden Text: Lots of new bloggers puts hidden text in their bloggers that consists keywords. they hope that they will get traffic by doing this. Well it will not bring traffic to your blog instead it will cause a penalty by Search engines. never use hidden text on your blog otherwise you will get penalized. For example if your blog background is white don't put white text anywhere.

Keyword Stuffing: Another mistake that new bloggers often makes is stuffing keywords into their blogs in hope to get high traffic through Search engines. instead of traffic they gets penalized for it as its against Google's quality guidelines.

Webmasters Sees Decrease In Traffic With New Google Image Search Design

Google Images is the largest resource of Photos on the Web. Google Images is also a Search Engine which Indexes Images uploaded on various websites. When people search for different Images It shows the relevant Image results that are found on various websites. Recently Google has done largest redesign of Its Image Search in history and rolled it out last week for the users. With the new design the users can see the images in better resolution within Google Images search website instead of going to the site where a image actually exists. With new design users are less likely to visit the site of a image.

After the launch of New Google Images design the webmasters are reporting a massive decrease in their traffic specially those webmasters who were having wallpapers sites or those who were getting lot of images traffic to their sites.

Even traffic of my websites is reduced massively. Some webmasters were also using a redirect code for redirection from Google Images to their sites. after the arrival of new design this redirect code has also stopped working.

Finding out the Causes of decrease in traffic:

So what is actually the cause that the new redesign has reduced the traffic of most of websites? well there are several reasons for this:

1 In new redesign the Images opens in full resolution even without going to the website where that Image is present. So Many visitors don't go to website and gets the Image by staying on Google Images site.

2 the second reason of reduction in websites Traffic is that many websites were using a redirect code which used to redirect visitors to the site from Google Images in old design. In new design that code is not working anymore.

These are the two major causes that the new Image Design of Google Images are reduced traffic of Websites.

Webmasters are protesting on different forums and Groups against the new images design and demanding Google to bring back the old design as new design is causing decrease in Traffic and revenues.
