The due date for the application is typically mid-January to early February. The specific due date is usually listed at the online application site. Selection and non-selection notices come out sometime in the month of March. Notification of decisions on applications is in early-to-mid March.

NASA Academy Applicants 2015
After applying through One Stop Shopping Initiative (OSSI) all qualified applicants must submit two essays, each one not exceeding one-to-two pages in length (see below for essay details), as part of their application as follows:
- A biography on the applicant must highlight interest in space or aeronautics, etc. and;
- Second essay should focus on applicant’s life during which and aptitude for leadership and teamwork was demonstrated.
Essays should be in first person and explain why you want to work in aeronautics or space, why you want to attend this particular Academy, and what you see as your strengths and weaknesses when working in teams. Applications without the essays will not be considered complete.
If applying to NASA Glenn then, in addition to emailing your two essays to NASA-Academy-Application@mail.nasa.gov, send copies of them to: mark.d.kankam@nasa.gov and bernice.a.beznoska@nasa.gov, identify your e-mail subject line as “NASA Academy Application 2015,” and e-mail the essays prior to the deadline of 11:59 PM on February 15, 2015.
Important announcement for students applying to multiple Academies
Apply through the One Stop Shopping Initiative (OSSI) to the Academies of your choice, but send the supplemental essays asdoc or .docx attachments to NASA-Academy-Application@mail.nasa.gov with copies to: Dr. M. D. Kankam (mark.d.kankam@nasa.gov) and Mrs. Bernice Beznoska (bernice.a.beznoska@nasa.gov) by February 15, 2015.
Note that this completed application deadline of February 15, 2015, is earlier than the One Stop Shopping Initiative (OSSI) deadline of March 1, 2015. For multiple Academy applications, including those for Glenn Research Center, ensure that the biography essay emphasizes the specific Academy of interest, e.g., space or aeronautics, propulsion or robotics, etc., which are offered at the various NASA Academies listed below.
Please entitle the names of your Microsoft Word document files as “XYZ-NASA Academy Application 2015” where “XYZ” is your last name.
AND
At the TOP of the essay documents, the applicant MUST rank the desired Academies, based on decreasing preference to attend them. e.g.: 1. Glenn Space, 2. Langley Aero, 3. Dryden Aero, etc. AND if the Academy has more than one project, list your preference for projects, e.g., 1. Glenn Space, Project X; 2. Dryden Aero, Project Y; etc.
