Committees and Panels
Appointment Panel
The IMPRESS Appointment Panel is an independent subcommittee of the IMPRESS Board, which is responsible for appointing Board members through a fair and open process. The Panel itself was recruited through a fair and open process. It is also responsible for setting the rates of remuneration for the IMPRESS Chair and Board members.
Code Committee
The Code Committee is responsible for advising the IMPRESS Board on the Standards Code and its guidance. It also reviews the Code and guidance as necessary to ensure that it continues to meet the needs of publishers and the public.
Finance & Audit Committee
The Finance & Audit Committee provides independent oversight of and advice to the IMPRESS Board on the adequacy and effectiveness of the organisation’s financial control and reporting systems, recommends to the Members the appointment of suitable external auditors, and advises the Board on Internal Audit arrangements as well as ensuring that adequate levels of external and internal audit are maintained.
Arbitration Panel
The Arbitration Panel is made up of leading arbitration practitioners specialising in all aspects of media law and regulation. When parties agree to resolve a dispute through arbitration, an IMPRESS arbitrator is appointed from the panel by the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, the leading non-profit body in the field of arbitration.
