DEI Seminar Series: Renewable Energy, Settler Colonialism and Poetic Resistance: Wind Farms in Western Sahara
The academy has explored how “dirty” energy has led to violence, environmental destruction and poverty. We know how the renewables sector, in some contexts, reflects neoliberal modes of power and can subsume social outcomes to economic ones. But we still lack a clear picture of how green energy is implicated in human rights abuses and colonialism in some settings.

DEI Seminar Series: Remotely operated ground engaging vehicles for subsea renewable power infrastructure
Royal IHC have recently produced a new range of remotely operated vehicles (up to 60 tonnes air weight and 1.2MW of installed power) with improved productivity, performance and features specifically designed for the offshore renewable power market. The innovations cover the full range of seabed conditions and extend the usability of both ploughs and tracked trenching systems. The challengers and background to the developments, patented solutions and production equipment will be presented.
