Types of Childhood Vaccines
The MMR Vaccine
Your child will need two doses, at 12 to 15 months and 4 to 6 years of age. Here's why it's so crucial.
The DTaP Vaccine
Children should get three doses of this vaccine at 2, 4 and 6 months of age, followed by a booster between 15 and 18 months, and another at 4 to 6 years old.
The Flu Shot
Children should get the flu shot every season starting at 6 months old.
The Hib Vaccine
This vaccine protects against Hib disease, once a leading cause of bacterial meningitis in very young children.
The Hepatitis A Vaccine
Babies should get their first dose at 12-23 months of age and a booster shot at least six months later.

The Polio Vaccine
To protect your baby against the debilitating disease of polio, you'll need to immunize him or her with four doses at 2, 4 and 6 to 18 months, and at 4 to 6 years old.
The PCV13 Vaccine
Your baby should get three doses of this vaccine at 2, 4 and 6 months, and a booster between 12 and 15 months of age.
The Varicella Vaccine
To prevent chicken pox, your little one should get two doses of the varicella vaccine at 12 to 15 months and 4 to 6 years of age.
The Rotavirus Vaccine
Your baby will get two or three oral doses of this vaccine, depending on the brand your doctor uses, at 2, 4 and potentially 6 months of age.
