COVID-19 has created an education crisis. Children across the U.S. are experiencing interruptions in their access to essential resources like school meals and books, and the transition to online learning leaves vulnerable students behind. At least 13 million children are enrolled in districts where children's reading materials circulation is less than 10 items per student. The imbalance is even greater when it comes to access to children’s books at home.
