Get a cheap basic one with batteries included. Kids are fascinated by being able control that patch of light, and to see in the dark.

You waste money buying items that you wouldn't have bought/cared about normally, thus, you are still wasting money on items you don't need even if they are on sale.

Don't fall into marketing tactics and buy items just because they are on sale if you weren't planning on already buying the item before it was on sale. You'll save money and feel better.

Recently a friend had his 30th birthday and due to COVID it was the first time he'd seen most of his family from interstate for over a year. Rather than buy something generic a couple of us hired a photographer for the event.

The photographer ran around taking candid pictures in the background and perfectly captured the reunion. The pressure on family to get photos with everyone was gone and all the people who attended now have great pictures to look back on.

This post may be most relevant to those in the US or Canada but I imagine this information might be relevant in other countries as well. Not only will getting dental care at a dental school save you money, it also provides dental students with experience in the field.

Noise-induced hearing loss is very real and very permanent. Adults with hearing loss have a higher risk for Alzheimer’s, dementia, and other cognitive disorders. You can never predict when you'll be exposed to noise above safe levels. And when it happens, there is little you can do besides leaving the area or plugging your ears with your fingers.

In situations where you want to stay (like a nightclub or fireworks show) or when you need your hands (like mowing the lawn or hammering nails), having a pair of earplugs can prevent the irreparable damage and death of the hair cells in your ears.

A pair of earplugs solves this problem and takes up less space than a pack of chewing gum; put a pair in your purse, backpack, jacket, or simply your pocket whenever you go out.

What is a Life Pro Tip?

A Life Pro Tip (or an LPT) is a specific action with definitive results that improves life for you and those around you in a specific and significant way.

Keep in mind that giving someone advice is not the same as giving someone an LPT. Advice is offering someone guidance or offering someone a recommendation.

Examples of advice:

  • “Always be prepared to leave your employer because they are prepared to leave you.”
  • “A marriage proposal should not come as a big surprise, despite what you may have seen in the movies.”

Keep in mind that an aphorism is not an LPT.

An aphorism is a a short clever saying that is intended to express a general truth or a concise statement of a principle.

Examples of aphorisms:

  • "A barking dog never bites."
  • "No snowflake in an avalanche ever feels responsible."
  • "All stones are broken stones."
