I have heard and read a lot about "global warming", "greenhouse effect", and "climate change". A lot of scientists, governments, and environmental groups claim that man-made air pollution is greatly contributing to the retention of heat within the Earth's atmosphere, raising the average yearly temperature and causing permanent climate change.
But there is also a considerable amount of information available questioning this claim. I decided to do my own investigation of the science and statistics, to make up my own mind about what's going on. I am NOT a climate scientist; my day-job is irrelevant to this topic; I have no political agenda, nor any financial reason to desire either side of the argument to "win". I am presenting my findings here in the hope that it may help others decide for themselves. I live in Canada, so I am especially interested in what role Canada plays in the creation of and reduction of greenhouse gasses. I have begun by scanning scientific magazines, journals, and periodicals. For any article related to climate, I have taken notes about the main messages of the article. I started this "literature review" in January 2007, so it will take many months to accumulate many articles. This series of web pages organizes those article notes by topic (the number in parentheses means number of articles):
