Women like Amal Clooney, who even before her famous marriage to actor George Clooney, was working as a high-profile lawyer, defending women against human rights violations. And she is in good company with actress-turned-activist Kerry Washington, Zahra Joya, an Afghan journalist who was forced to flee the Taliban, and singer-songwriter Kacey Musgraves, a shining example of success in a male-dominated world.
