How tech helped in the US' rescue of a downed F-15 crew member from deep inside Iran Iran shot down the American jet over southeastern Iran, the first such loss since Operation Epic Fury began. A senior official described the rescue as "the ultimate needle in a haystack," per Axios. The operation involved CIA assets, MQ-9 drone strikes, and encrypted survival beacons.
