  • ▶️Rheinmetall and Space Norway cooperate on Maritime Space Surveillance ▶️Rheinmetall AG and Space Norway AS have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to further expand their cooperation in the field of spacebased capabilities for defence applications. The partnership is particularly focused on Maritime Domain Awareness (MDA). ▶️The agreement builds on the existing exchange between the two companies and establishes a framework for evaluating joint opportunities. Specifically, the cooperation covers satellite communications, sensors and mission systems, as well as their integration into higher-level command and information systems. The objective is to develop future capabilities for customers in Germany and, in the longer term, in other allied nations. ▶️At the core of the memorandum is the planned integration of Space Norway's C-band SAR satellite capabilities. Through the SPOCK 1 programme, Germany already possesses a proven and operationally tested high resolution X band SAR capability, delivered by Rheinmetall ICEYE Space Solutions based on ICEYE's leading satellite technology. From its site in Neuss, Rheinmetall offers Germany's largest industrial production capacity for SAR satellite systems. Space Norway's C-band SAR capability complements this system in a targeted manner. While X band SAR enables high-resolution surveillance of individual targets, C-band SAR provides broad-area coverage of extensive maritime regions. Both frequency bands are complementary and, together, are essential for comprehensive maritime domain awareness. ▶️Continuous and actionable maritime domain awareness in the Arctic and the North Atlantic is becoming an increasingly critical operational requirement for modern armed forces. In an environment characterised by vast distances, challenging weather conditions and growing strategic importance, timely access to reliable information is crucial. The ability to continuously monitor large maritime areas, detect relevant activities at an early stage, and rapidly transform data into actionable intelligence is essential for situational awareness, decision superiority and effective operational action. • ▶️Rheinmetall Delivers Autonomous Logistics Training for UK Armed Forces Ahead of Major International Exercise ▶️Aldershot, UK. Rheinmetall and the UK Ministry of Defence (MoD) have successfully delivered an autonomous logistics training programme to British Army personnel, culminating in the first UK HX autonomous convoy operated by British soldiers using the UK Advanced Land Autonomy Centre of Excellence (ALACoE) PATH Kit. Delivered over two weeks at the Combat Service Support Trials and Development Unit (CSS TDU) in Aldershot, the programme prepared personnel from 8 Squadron, 27 Regiment Royal Logistic Corps (RLC) for participation in Project Convergence Capstone 6 (PCC6) as part of Project MAIA, the British Army’s initiative to explore and evaluate autonomous systems for future logistics operations. ▶️The successful completion of the first UK HX autonomous convoy marks an important milestone in the Army’s exploration of autonomous capability, demonstrating how advanced technologies can enhance operational effectiveness while equipping soldiers with the skills and confidence to plan, manage and operate autonomous logistics convoys. ▶️Training was conducted using the HX2 development vehicle White Pony, equipped with Rheinmetall’s PATH Autonomous Kit (A-Kit)—a platform-agnostic autonomous driving system that enables existing vehicle fleets to operate autonomously. Combining advanced sensors, AI-enabled navigation and robotic control software, the system allows vehicles to operate independently or as part of a convoy, giving British Army personnel valuable hands-on experience in realistic operational scenarios. ▶️Throughout the programme, soldiers were trained in the roles of Convoy Commander, Lead Vehicle Driver and Safety Driver before progressing through increasingly demanding on-road and off-road exercises. Training scenarios included blocked routes, disabled vehicles and dynamic convoy management, replicating the challenges expected during PCC6 at Fort Irwin, California. ▶️The programme was delivered collaboratively by Rheinmetall teams from Austria, the UK and Canada, demonstrating the strength of the Group’s international expertise and its commitment to working alongside defence partners to develop, test and deliver innovative capability.

  • ▶️ From Unterlüß to the Ukraine: Rheinmetall delivers artillery ammunition from the “Werk Niedersachsen” for the first time ▶️ Rheinmetall is delivering artillery ammunition to Ukraine from Unterlüß for the first time. Until now, deliveries had come from other sites within the Rheinmetall production network. This first delivery from Unterlüß to Ukraine comprises a low five-figure number of projectiles, in addition to propellant charges from other sites. More than half of the order has already been delivered. The remaining projectiles and propellant charges are due to follow by the end of 2026. ▶️ For the first time, projectiles from the new ‘Werk Niedersachsen’ (Lower-Saxony plant) are being delivered to the Ukrainian armed forces. The RH1412 projectiles are the latest product in Rheinmetall’s artillery portfolio. They can be fired from various 155 mm weapon systems and offer a long range and high effectiveness. This order highlights Rheinmetall’s high level of expertise in artillery systems. ▶️ In order to meet the growing demand for modern 155mm projectiles and propellant charges, Rheinmetall continues to invest heavily in expanding the capacity of existing facilities and establishing new production sites. Rheinmetall is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of large-calibre ammunition. Since 2022, the Düsseldorf-based technology group has been increasing its production capacity and aims at producing around 1.5 million 155 mm artillery projectiles annually by 2030.
