During the recent mission to Morocco, it was wonderful to visit the PNUD Maroc office and meet our colleagues in the country office after the governmental workshop with ONDH. The HDRO team presented the #HDR2025 findings and shared plans for the forthcoming #HDR2026, exploring ways to strengthen engagement in Morocco and further support the workshop. We are grateful for the country team's support and for Resident Representative Ilaria Carnevali joining the meaningful workshop. Looking forward to continuing the conversation!

International Affairs
Human Development is about the richness of human life rather than simply the richness of the economy.
About us
The Human Development Report Office (HDRO) works to publish the Human Development Report (HDR), an independent report commissioned by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). The mission of the Human Development Report Office (HDRO) is to advance human development. The goal is to contribute towards the expansion of opportunities, choice and freedom. The office works towards this goal by promoting innovative new ideas, advocating practical policy changes, and constructively challenging policies and approaches that constrain human development. The office works with others to achieve change through writing and research, data analysis and presentation, support to national and regional analysis and outreach and advocacy work. The HDRO also works on the Human Development Index (HDI), which is a summary measure of average achievement in key dimensions of human development: a long and healthy life, being knowledgeable and have a decent standard of living.

“Consider relationships as the primary unit for public policy,” said Celine Charveriat in her opening remarks at a webinar organized by Pro(to)topia. Building on this, HDRO Director Pedro Conceição emphasized the need for an #AspirationalApproach: “We should aspire to advance human development.” Rethinking #HumanDevelopment today means accounting for planetary change and human-nature relationships—while mobilizing people’s #agency to act, and inspiring both the public and policymakers to drive impact at scale. 👉 How can we turn #aspirations into action for #people and #planet? #PNUDMaroc #DéveloppementHumain #HDR2025 ONDH Human Development Report Office - United Nations Development Programme
