Karl Smesko says they plan to appeal Angel Reese’s 8th technical foul of the season that she picked up in the 4th quarter. Says from his advantage point, he felt it was a foul, but not a tech. Smesko did say he needs to review the play.

Portland takes that one 101-83. Engstler and Leite did the heavy lifting with help from Fire’s bench. Very ugly game from Atlanta all around. Every starter was in a negative +/- and a lot of standing around on both sides of the ball, despite five in double figures.

If the tech stands and is not rescinded, it appears it would have been for a push from Reese on Leite. That got tangled up under the basket after a possession and upon separating, Reese pushed Leite. Ref t’d her up for it.

Angel Reese just got her 8th technical foul of the season. It appears she made contact with Carla Leite. That’s a 1-game suspension for Reese.
