I believe it’s pretty much explicitly stated that Earth is in a reasonably good, or at least stable, condition, by the start of book 7, and wasn’t directly attacked, outside of some of the consciousness attacks by the “goths”, during the events of the final trilogy. 

But, that might had also been depending on getting resources from the colonies, if not directly, indirectly. 

Of course also, as others said, ~1000 years is a long time and it could had collapsed for reasons not directly related to the events of the books. 

It’s definitely not a uniform opinion among the Native American community. 

Personally (as a white person) I think we should move away from it… but the dumbs will get big mad over it, and I’m not sure the Native American community cares enough about it to take on the potential blowback by pushing for the change. 

Also Scandinavians aren’t facing any sort of active persecution, and certainly none in relation to the ancestors pillaging parts of Europe during the “dark ages”. 

Like “fighting Irish” is perhaps offensive, but also Irish people are really facing active persecution in the US anymore (certainly have in the past, but you don’t see “No Irish” signs anymore)

Man have to pee so often now, it’s annoying. 

In the moment time moves the same speed, but retrospectively time feels like it moves faster. 

A result of there are just a lot bigger events, or at least changes of context, when you are younger and also, it’s all you know. 

When you are 20, well you have 20 years of memories (well not really, but let’s ignore than for now). When you are 40, well you have 20 years of memories on top of your pre-existing 20 years. Just kinda compresses it all together. 

I think it’s actually somewhere in your 30s where your perceived halfway point of your life is, even if you live to be 80+.
