This time I'm building capacity isolation for the signals platform, which powers the originality signals for Facebook Reels and Stories I love using every day. What's surprised me most is how fast I grow here — surrounded by brilliant, generous engineers and researchers who invest in my success." 💬 Neelesh, Software Engineer Intern: “My first week, before I'd even touched any code, my manager asked what I wanted to get out of this summer. Not deliverables, not team goals, just what mattered to me. That conversation told me more about Meta's culture than any orientation could. People here don't just want your work; they want to see you grow. From reading a laundry label to finding a kettlebell at the gym, Ray-Ban Meta glasses are helping the blind community navigate the world hands-free. 👓 Molly Burke a blind content creator, author, and speaker, teamed up with Meta's Maxine Williams, VP of Accessibility & Engagement, to show how the combination of Meta AI and Be My Eyes integration is making everyday life more independent. No braille on a label? Meta AI reads it. Need help identifying weights at the gym? Be My Eyes patches in a volunteer through the glasses—no phone needed. As Molly puts it: "With technology like this, I'm able to more easily, safely and independently navigate the world. We’re excited to introduce Muse Spark 1.1, a significant upgrade to the first Muse Spark model we released earlier this year. Muse Spark 1.1 is a multimodal reasoning model built for agentic tasks, with major gains in coding, tool and computer use, and multimodal understanding. The model is available now in "Thinking" mode in the Meta AI app and on meta.ai. First up, three PhD interns turning cutting-edge research into products that reach billions. Meet Huy Truong, Sinan Şahin Candan and Alec! 💬 Huy, Software Engineer PhD Intern: "My research has always been about how an agent learns to make good decisions in a messy world which turns out to be exactly the problem you solve to build personal superintelligence AI. I'm here to build personal superintelligence that facilitates connection between people. Getting to push on the research, the products people actually live with, and the mission to bring people closer together all at once has been the best part of the internship." 💬 Sinan, Research Scientist Intern: "I like how research scientists come up with ideas, document them, get approval and collaborate with other teams as they do in academia, but in a faster and more productive way. There are smart people here following the most up to date scientific trends, looking to integrate them into the products that connect people in depth." 💬 Alec, Software Engineer PhD Intern: "We're building a tool that streamlines cross-team workflows, saving engineers an enormous amount of time. Knowing that my work will have a tangible impact on how people across the company collaborate has been one of the most motivating aspects of this internship.” At Meta, research doesn't exist in a vacuum. Most design systems make you choose: adopt a big company system and your app looks like someone else's product; reach for copy/paste components and every project forks its own snippets with no shared coherence, no upstream fixes, and accessibility quietly becomes your problem. Astryx ends that trade-off. The system controls behavior, accessibility, and quality; themes control how it looks.
