About the African Infrastructure Database

Empowering Africa's development through comprehensive infrastructure data and collaboration

Our Mission

The African Infrastructure Database (AID) serves as the continent's premier platform for infrastructure project information, facilitating collaboration among stakeholders, promoting transparency, and supporting evidence-based decision-making for Africa's infrastructure development.

What We Do

AID provides a comprehensive repository of infrastructure projects across Africa, covering sectors including transport, energy, water, ICT, and social infrastructure. We enable:

  • Centralized access to infrastructure project data
  • Real-time project tracking and monitoring
  • Stakeholder collaboration and networking
  • Data-driven insights and analytics
  • Support for PIDA (Programme for Infrastructure Development in Africa)

Our Impact

Since inception, AID has become an essential tool for governments, development partners, private sector investors, and regional economic communities. We support:

  • Regional integration through cross-border infrastructure projects
  • Investment mobilization and project financing
  • Policy formulation and strategic planning
  • Knowledge sharing and best practices
  • Sustainable infrastructure development

Partnership with AU-NEPAD
