OSCE Mission in Kosovo
Set up on 1 July 1999, the Mission has its headquarters in Prishtinë/Priština and maintains five regional centres. It runs a wide array of activities in the field of human rights, democratization and public safety with the aim to further develop a democratic and multi-ethnic society in Kosovo, where the rights of all people are respected.

The Mission’s thematic and programmatic activities
The OSCE Mission in Kosovo is the Organization‘s largest field operation. As the only civilian international organization covering all municipalities in Kosovo, the Mission monitors the work of central and local level institutions for compliance with international best practices; strengthens legislation and policies on human rights and good governance through expertise, training and advocacy; and makes recommendations for improvement where needed, including through published thematic reports. It fosters a professional, reliable and ethical media landscape, while supporting the development of professional and competent media regulatory and self-regulatory institutions.
With its various forums bringing together women, youth and civil society actors from different communities, religions and backgrounds, the Mission helps bring about positive change and foster constructive dialogue.
