The AC induction motor and single speed gear box create instant torque from 0 rpm. Up to 295 lbs-ft of torque and 300 horsepower are produced as the car smoothly accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in 3.7 seconds.

The hand-built, carbon fiber Roadster sets the mark for premium electric cars to come. The monocoque chassis, constructed of resin-bonded and riveted extruded aluminum adds rigidity and strength to the lightweight package.
The Roadster offers supercar performance without supercar emissions. Engineered for efficiency, the zero-emissions Roadster can drive 245 miles per charge. It plugs into nearly any outlet, anywhere in the world.

BUILT AROUND THE DRIVER
New seats offer improved comfort, larger more supportive bolsters and a new lumbar support system. An optional 7" touchscreen provides easy to use controls, navigation, and back-up screen. Sound reduction materials quiet the cabin. Wheel arch liners suppress pavement noise.

Roadster 2.5 reveals a nuanced exterior design including a new front fascia and rear diffuser. The new Roadster 2.5 reflects the future of Tesla design language.
