Stewart Hosie is the Member of Parliament for Dundee East. He is Deputy Leader and Chief Whip of the SNP Group at Westminster. He speaks for the party in the House of Commons on Finance and Treasury matters.

Stewart was elected in 2005, gaining the seat from Labour. A highly experienced political campaigner, Stewart was the Party’s National Secretary for four years then held office as the party’s Organisation Convener.

Born in Dundee in 1963, Stewart was educated at Brackens PS, Invertay PS Monifieth, Carnoustie High School and Bell Street Tech, (now Abertay University) where he gained an HD in Computer Studies. Stewart worked in IT/IS for 20 years and ran his own business.

He is married to Shona Robison MSP, the Scottish Minister for Commonwealth Games and Sport. They have a daughter, Morag Louise, and live in the constituency.
